I haven’t been getting enough sleep, what’s the worst that could happen?

All of us have had to deal with family obligations, staying out late to have fun, catching up on work, watching late night television, and so forth. So what’s the big deal? Most people think they only need a few hours of sleep to get by. When in reality, a healthy adult needs a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep a night. The following is a list of problems that are contributed to lack of sleep:

Cold sores
Increase stress
Tendency towards violence
Loss of productivity
Vehicle accidents and mishaps
Difficulty concentrating
Obesity
Increased risk for heart disease
Lowered testosterone levels
Increased risk of diabetes
Hypertension
Emotional instability
Hallucinations
Types of cancer
Weakened immune system
Body aches and soreness
Shortened life span

Well, I’m off to bed.
